Background

Joelle Montoya started acting on the stage when she was 12 years old and still has no plans to stop.

From high school through to college, theatre ultimately took her overseas to E15 conservatory in London where she honed her acting skills. Studying Laban, Grotowski, and understanding Stanislavski in comparison to Strasberg was just the tip of the iceberg. Here she found her love on devising original and experimental theatre, ultimately founding Glass Moon Theatre Company.

With Glass Moon Theatre Company, "The Sacred Obscene" went to the Edinburgh Fringe festival.

Since returning from the UK, Joelle has worked and collaborated regionally and in NYC both in musicals and plays. Though she hopes to also return to the UK to grace the stage once again.
